MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Profenofos (Technical) is conventionally prepared on industrial scale by either of the following two routes:

1) ETHYL MERCAPTAN ROUTE : This route involves 4 unit processes apart from unit operations like distillation, filteration and washings. This route generates ethyl mercaptan as a bye-product which is highly obnoxious from environmental viewpoint. Hence,this route is generally advisable where facilities for its in-situ consumption are available,like manufacture of phorate (tech.) where it is used as a raw-material. TECHNOSAFE offers the process to manufacture PROFENOFOS of minimum 94 % AI by this route.

TECHNOSAFE has completed a project comprising technology transfer, lab & pilot plant demonstrations, basic & detailed engg., erection and satisfactory commissioning of 2.0 MT / day capacity Technical Profenofos manufacturing plant by ethyl mercaptan route for VANTECH INDUSTRY LTD., Hyderabad.

2) QUARTERNARY SALT ROUTE : This route also involves 4 unit process apart from unit operations like distillation, filteration and washings. This route is simpler and does not involve handling of any obnoxious materials. TECHNOSAFE offers the process to manufacture PROFENOFOS of minimum 95 % AI by this route.

TECHNOSAFE has completed another project comprising technology transfer, lab & pilot plant demonstrations, basic & detailed engg. and commissioning of 1.8 MT / day capacity Technical Profenofos manufacturing plant by quarternary salt route for COROMANDAL FERTILISERS LIMITED, Agrochemicals Division, New Mumbai.

TECHNOSAFE has completed another project comprising technology transfer etc. of 2.0 MT / day capacity Technical Profenofos manufacturing plant by quarternary salt route for HYDERABAD CHEMICAL PRODUCTS LIMITED, Hyderabad.

TECHNOSAFE offers process know-how for the manufacture of Technical grade PROFENOFOS by using any of the above mentioned two routes.
